My schedule has changed somewhat, that I find myself logging in more late at night. The problem with this is that that means my character is more active at night, as well (we're both on PST/SLT time). I'm sure I'm not the only one.

While sneaking around in the dark sounds fun, there's more of a chance of tripping over a pothole or stumbling over a crawler, if you can't see where you're going. And carrying some means of light, such as a flashlight or something more archaic, just makes you more a target. It sounds fun for RP, but it also sounds like a majority problem for the nocturnal, to the point where this kind of suggestion would probably pop up.

In case I miss the next town meeting (and if my schedule doesn't get better, sadly I will), I wanted to suggest candle-lighting to line the streets, and even maybe NPC or PC jobs to run around lighting them as evening falls. It'd offer no real money, but it would be fun for those who like an excuse to go all over town.

After all, this is a community slowly pulling itself out of the ashes, and eventually changes, even if small ones, would be made as time goes on. This seems like one that would benefit the community and still not threaten the zombie takeover. Rather than trip over a zombie in the dark, you get to see that long shadow shifting across the road. It's just more dramatic.

Edit: I need to also add that this wouldn't be a dramatic source of light for the night, given that it would be by candles. It'd be dim at best; just enough to see there's nothing in your path, but not enough to see what's lurking just beyond the edges.
