Tammie Elizabeth McKinney was raised in the backwaters of Georgia with her Mom, Dad, and two brothers; George (5 years older than Tammie) and Jim (2 years younger than Tammie). Being the only girl amongst her siblings, Tammie often felt a bit lonely. On their 10 acre plot, Tammie’s mom often took care of the house, garden, and farm animals on days she wasn’t accounting for some firm in town. On the other hand, Tammie’s father became quite popular in their community selling his hunting treasures, as well as fish he’d catch on a regular basis.
While not sharing the passion for hunting like her father and George, she ended up settling with shooting bows in the back yard with her brother Jim.  Without much to do in the country (considering they didn’t watch much TV until Tammie’s teen years) shooting bows was rather exhilarating. From about the time she was 7, Tammie had begun her lifelong hobby that lead to her father buying her a crossbow for her 18th birthday.

Leaving for college in southern Oregon, Tammie took her chances far away from home. Here, she could begin anew. For a girl who had explored few other places than her own back yard and tiny community in Georgia, the change of pace was welcomed with open arms. It was a new chapter of her life that would allow her to become a pharmacist, and help those in need. However, this chapter would become a horror novel within her junior year of college.

Once the outbreak occurred, Tammie began using her master marksman skills, and sneaking abilities, to loot some of the bigger cities in the Oregon-California area. However, because of the delicate process involved in doing so, Tammie remained alone. The risk of losing someone wasn’t worth a lot of the risk she put herself through. Tammie could die happily if she’d inflicted that fate on herself in an idiotic fashion by getting bit; however, in the event one of her companions was endangered by her reckless behavior was something considered heinous and unforgivable.

In the unlikely event her family came looking for her, Tammie made sure to leave notes of all sorts to indicate where she was going. She tried to phone them a few times before lines were completely shut off, yet no response. Tammie wonders if she’ll ever find her family.
After a month of solitude, Tammie settled on Arklay. It’s still quite an unfamiliar space. However, the grounds are much safer than most places Tammie had visited. In this aspect, she considers Arklay to be her best chance of survival. While her hope still stands, who knows how long it will take before Tammie believes the world to be doomed. All she knows is that there has to be a cure being developed, and in the meantime she is to survive no matter what. She has to.
