The Howlers By James2323 Resident

FOUNDING MEMBERS: Svatlin Minoptra, trestacks Resident

OVERVIEW: The Howlers are a group of semi-tribal survivalists. Their member-base majorly consists of outcasts and criminals who sought shelter and a place to belong. They believe in the survival of the fittest, and thus will attempt to take, extort, and take over as much as they can to ensure their own longevity. The Howlers have been around a while since the Outbreak led by Vincenzo Carmela. The group had risen and fallen where the majority of the prominent members merged into Raiders and raider groups. Years later, the remnants of the Howlers were brought back together under the rule of two mysterious figures known as The Hound and Lupus. The duo's true identities are known to the majority of the Howlers' Council, which consists of the lieutenants and taskmasters. Under this new regime, the Howlers' infrastructure had developed in a way not seen before. The Howlers are less technical than most, caring only for results rather than collateral. This may cause a lot of issues.

POTENTIAL ENEMY: While the group itself is not set to be unlawful or otherwise, their method of operation will most likely result in issues with the Watchmen and any other group that may have a lawful air to it. Contrarily, the Howlers would be allied with anyone they see would benefit them in a materialistic manner. E.g. if business/faction X asks them for help/protection for commodity Y, or holds trades with them for something they need, it would cause the group to regard the aforementioned business/faction as an 'ally'.

EXPERIENCE:I've been an on/off long-term RPer at Outbreak, and have actually led a group or two here before, aside from several groups outside of OB. I think it's the idea of listening to criticism and suggestions as well as being overall receptive is what really helps a faction withstand, well. Anything.

IDEAS:For new players on the sim, it would be rather cryptic until they look into it. The idea is not loudly announcing the presence of a Howler, but to signify it with a trinket. There will be certain areas where members regularly patrol in order to record the traditional Howler joining ritual: The slaughtering of an animal. New players and potential members alike may accidentally stumble upon said areas, and either be intrigued, welcomed, or shown around. New members to the faction itself will have to undergo induction, a process which involves donning the first rank patch--Their offering's two very front incisors. The infrastructure then goes up to canines, then molars, with leaders wearing a full set of teeth as a means of 'decoration'.
