Hi team,

As soon as I wrapped up Fever (there are a few more things to do with it technically), I pursued a project I had been planning for a while ... and it was to rewrite every guide, write new ones, and basically redesign the navigation and templates of our website.

Updates

  • New persistent toolbar at the top of the website is still a work in progress, but it's a quick way to discover some website-related functions like logging out.
  • New "Report" tab at the top offers quick links to report abusive players, bugs, and request tenant support.
  • Navigation has been restructured to be more user friendly
  • Guides have all been rewritten with content that is brief and to the point. I've asked admins to quickly beef up our staff and recruit more mentors to help fill in the gaps where lengthy guides could never do.
  • About and Features pages offer content with really useful tips; I left all the fluff out.
  • Commodities page under "About" dynamically pulls all the available items that can be consumed. I've put some light metrics like hunger, thirst, and health impact to better gauge their rarity and value for trade role-play.
  • New businesses and factions page is a directory of active groups that users could potentially join. I will be adding private businesses shortly to it.
  • "Unread Post" forum notification is now a feature; you'll see it as a green left border next to topics you haven't opened yet.

Upcoming

  • "My Character" page that offers stats on how many Infected have been killed, and basic stuff you'd see on your HUD. It might also make recommendations.
  • Clean up the toolbar at the top
  • Add a few more guides (taking requests)
