“The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting.”

She came into AES with a friend, yet it was I who required medical assistance.

I became short of breath, diaphoretic; presenting tachycardia and xerostomia.

Nevertheless, I was able to provide treatment to her friend’s self-inflicted laceration.

Great field work; it had already been irrigated, sutured and bandaged prior to transport. Looked good when I changed the bandages,no signs of infection. However I went ahead and admitted her for dehydration and exhaustion as well as for the injury.

My head is still filled with her voice, her words forming in my mind now like the Fisher-Price magnetic letters that we used to play with on the refrigerator.

She said nothing much, but like cotton candy created from a handful of cane sugar, her syllables spun in my head until filled with puffy sweetness.

My third eye is still driving her curves like a Formula One course, daring and dangerous and delightful.

It’s Arklay. I’ve been too long here already, and it’s beginning to wear on me.

No worries.

A cure is near…

This post was damn near art. Always nice to see some poetic flavour to the writing!
