Survivor Sign In

I’ve been meaning to write down things more often, but we’ve been busy trying to make a life here. We’ve been hauling water from this pretty clear pond we found in the woods and then running it through the water filtering bottles I made. Jim thinks it might be fed by a spring. We’ve been boiling it afterward to make sure it’s clean….can’t be too careful these days and I’ve seen more than one walker stuck in shallow water before. This morning we went foraging and found a California White Oak and collected the acorns. I picked some Miner’s Lettuce too. It feels good to be doing something not just making lists. New people keep coming to the Eights and I had a nice visit with Alex and met her Dad, Abraham….good folks and she has skills for making it here. Last night we talked to a gal named Yuko, she’s staying here too. She said she liked to cook and garden. Hopefully we’ll get some more seeds. I have a few packages I brought along, but it’s too cold now and too crazy to try and plant anything … maybe eventually. Seems far away to be that settled. Things could all go to hell in no time and we’d be on the run again. Well, I guess that’s all…except one more thing – I told Jim I loved him this morning.
