I done my best to gather from surrounding buildings, wire out of the walls, salvage studs, I borrowed the welding torch from the auto shop with the permission of the owner and I have been spending my days trying to harvest copper pipe. I take it all back to The Eights and sort it and as best I can store it. It has not been an easy task. I see people watching me work. Most are in a daze, understandable. I have fixed sinks, put up boards for security, more needs doing on the first floor. I considered a water storage reservoir to catch rain water, water filtration system, fixing the fence, look out sniper positions on the roof, not that we got a sniper. Work to live; live to work. I think for us all of us it is going to be a world in constant need of repair, maybe even that is crazy. I keep working on the eights, trying to watch out for folks and help them out as I meet them. As for me and Serena, well, I guess we are married. Kind of crazy, but we babbled out some promises, a pact, not the most romantic thing or maybe it was the in fact the most romantic thing this new world ever saw. Hell, I am just so lucky to have her. Anyway, suns up and so am I. Time to get ‘er done.
