OVERVIEW: We aim to form a small, neutral trading post that will be known as Roadkill Trading Post. This post will aim to provide a variety of items for the people of the island, and a safe place to get goods that might be difficult to find elsewhere or to sell their own goods. It will be located in the old diner building near the eights, next to the fairgrounds. There is a generator on premises so once it is up and running, there will be light, and with a refrigerator already on premises things such as water and cola will be able to be kept cold, something that would be nice on a hot summer day. Food up for sale or trade would be able to be kept in the fridge as well, fresh game meat would not need to be turned to jerky to preserve it right away as it could be frozen in the refrigerator's freezer. We plan to also provide an area for those that grow things in the fringes to sell their goods; such as vegetables and whatever grains their might be. Hunters as well would be able to sell or trade their kills, be it the meat, fur, or if in the case of a buck, the antlers as these can be used in the making of weapons (rp wise of course). This would offer a wider variety of things available to those who might not be able to get these things otherwise. The types of available goods of course would vary depending on what people bring in to trade or sell, and what has been gathered through scavenging. We of course would be looking to hire people who could do such jobs on a regular basis so the inventory is more steady when there is a lack of goods coming in from others sources, so we would be looking to employ those who can work as hunters or scavengers. Of course, still wanting to provide a safe, neutral zone to trade and sell goods, we do not look to steal goods from others in order to better our own services and will depend mostly on what can be brought in. In doing so, we feel that it would encourage roleplay between towns people and those in the fringes to come in and interact with others, and give people who have an excess of some items to sell them so they can earn a little extra money to purchase things they might need from other businesses in the area. Starting out, of course, the variety of goods offered would be small and the generator would not be working; but in the long run we hope to change this. The more people that come in to sell their goods or trade them, the more things that would be up for offer for others that come in, and once again when the generator is up and running it would open the option to get the refrigerator up and working for cold drinks and frozen goods, as well as lights inside of the building.

EXPERIENCE: Running a business to me in outbreak would mean helping to bring more roleplay opportunities to the people who play in the sim. It would help encourage others to interact and maybe help further a few story lines, as well as offer their characters a place to work, or go to sell/trade their goods. It would also be good for other businesses, as the money people get from selling their goods would provide people in the town with the funds they might need to purchase things from some of the other businesses.
