KalisaidAEGIS security solutions FOUNDING MEMBERS: Kyle Asbrink, william.urbanowicz OVERVIEW: Backstory: AEGIS was a multinational private military contractor established about 10 years ago. The organization held multiple contracts with the US Government, NATO and several large corporations. During the first 6 months of the outbreak AEGIS saw a significant jump in smaller contracts from private interests seeking protection the failing federal government could no longer provide. However, the collapse of the market and depreciation of the dollar quickly crushed the company. AEGIS as it was once known was no more. However, a small committed fraction of the west coast personnel hung onto the name. Not wishing to abandon their employees or their families to a tragic fate the remnant of AEGIS re-imagined itself. AEGIS did away with its high dollar contracts and instead restructured to support a grassroots business practice. The firm worked with settlements of survivors to build up infrastructure, providing military support and training to groups who wished to work together 'for the betterment of those who remain'. AEGIS created trade routes between settlements, providing protection from raiders and infected alike. But what did AEGIS gain from all this? Simple they collected returns from each colony they helped, a modest collection of commodities that they had helped culture and grow. A crate of food here, a tank of fuel there. Little by little AEGIS has been working to rebuild and reorganize. Slowly building relationships with groups of survivors with like minded beliefs. Their constructive philosophy peaked the interest of survivors who had lost their way. However, AEGIS simply does not have the personnel to help everyone they run across. With only a handful of overworked and under-supplied personnel AEGIS relies on the talent of those who remain to push forwards. The organization is currently desperate to recruit new talent up to the task of helping survivors. Due to the complexity and variety of tasks being undertaken. The organization is also seeking professional such as chemists, physicians, and engineers as they are essential in pursuing the Organization's grassroots methods. Having heard of the relative safety and openness of Arklay, the remnants of AEGIS make their way there in the hopes of continuing their work and building a long standing relationship with the people of the island. PURPOSE: AEGIS is a military style faction, however that not to say all it does is shoot at things. My hope is by AEGIS establishing its trade connections with Arklay will create a ton of collaborative expedition based RP's. I.e. Say colony B 120 miles away has extra fuel. AEGIS offers to escort Dixons fuel truck to the colony to grab the fuel in exchange for another commodity. Que a 2-3 days "Oregon Trail" style RP with a convoy in a sandbox. This could apply to other businesses as well. I also plan to have members of the group offer In character survival and tactics courses for players who are interested. Maybe a player is a good shot with a gun but doesn't know anything about formations or maneuver. The chaos that erupted FLAWS: Like with any militaristic groups, their initial reaction to any situation might be the use of force. This could cause distrust among those who have lost faith in the military and law enforcement. Idealistic bordering on the side of zealous at times Most of the group are also outsiders, they aren't locals of the island even if they intend to stay, this could make them untrustworthy in the eyes of some. POTENTIAL ENEMY: ALLIES: -Businesses and factions willing top partner with AEGIS to create collaborate RP's and entrepreneurial endeavors. -Phoenix collective, AEGIS could support local law enforcement in times of emergencies -Any survivor who wishes to improve their skills in combat can benefit from allying themselves with AEGIS Enemies: Rebel faction, hounds, anybody who does not trust the military or militant groups EXPERIENCE: Kyle and Myself will be working together to shape this group. Between us we have close to 15 year RP experience within SL. In addition to being a storyteller and moderator at vaporous other sims i am always striving to generate new RP content for players to experience. I have also been really good at crowd-sourcing content, which i think is crucial in establishing a good foundation for large cross faction RP's IDEAS: My hope is that the cross faction RP's AEGIS generates will give give both members of the band and those participating a great experience. With most of the members having a military background the group can offer an immersive training regime (think boot camp/basic training). A player can watch their character evolve from somebody who may never have shot a gun or killed an infected before to a seasoned professional with a lethal set of skills. With the number of new players coming on sim i believe there is a demand for a faction such as this Alternatively characters who may find themselves the odd one out, their pre-outbreak field losing all its value i.e. scientists, engineers and other prestigious fields can use their forgotten talents to support the community by bringing in new ideas.
