OVERVIEW: "One man's junk is another man's treasure." This is a secondhand store that will thrive to provide the most attainable acquisition of commodities. The goods would be provided by the employee themselves. I would love nothing more than to have all of Arklay on the roster, not to sell their most precious and high-priced commodities, but to sell those things that have been rotting in their inventories for ages. This will appeal mostly to newcomers that need only stop inside and buy food, water or aid. Because the goods sold are not highly sought, they are sold at a price that a newcomer can afford (However, it might be necessary to sell water as it is the essence of life and therefore the most precious of all goods). It gives the newbie a chance to RP with someone who's established, keeps their bars at a managable level and gets the RP'ers who are already established to start a communication with someone who may need help getting started. The other benefit is for the older crowd. They free up inventory space and make a couple of bucks! And chances are that even someone on sim for a long time may want to pop in and buy a cheap tin of catfood to stave their hunger for a few moments. So not just a secondhand store, but also a fast food joint and a farmer's market rolled into one.

EXPERIENCE: This is a brilliant place to roleplay, but it can be intimidating for new arrivals. The HUD doesn't wait for you to establish yourself before it immerses you in the life. I believe it is necessary to have a stationary place where you can look for a quick buy, a place that's cheap and a place that helps clean out unused commodities. I am passionate about helping out because I am still learning myself and I had wished this place existed when I had started because with the exception of ATC, everything is bought at purchase price. The difference between ATC and the Arklay Treasure Chest is the difference between bargaining and giveaways. We are not about getting top dollar. We are about helping people and cleaning out our inventories. Ideally, this place would have a close partnership with the shelter house and perhaps ATC, as an introduction to trading and goods.
