Rebecca 'Bex' Fallen's early years are one's shrouded in deliberate mystery. She rarely if ever discloses information about her childhood and adolescence. One may draw conclusions of unhappy memories and many skeletons in her proverbial closet.

Now aged twenty five, Bex is a qualified hairdresser, a job she was not only good at but enjoyed. Before the virus, Bex resided in the Rainy Days Trailer Park, situated in a town called Stormy Valley in the State of Washington. A small rural town with a close knit population. She had not been in Stormy long when she met and fell head over heels for Jon. Through thick and thin Bex and Jon have seemed to remain steadfast and fiercely defensive and protective of  one another.

Now she finds herself displaced, the virus tore through her home town with fearsome speed and ferocity. Herself and Jon, and their close friends Rae and Kane decided the only chance they had was to get the hell out of Stormy. The four of them left with haste and in a rushed panic , clinging to a loose and sketchy plan to head south and hope for the best. And so they did. A small convoy breaking free of an infested and deadly backwoods town.

Bex had decided to take her car, rather than ride with Jon. The extra wheels a back up should they need it. Tailing in her car behind Jon's truck they left the place they had both called home for so long. The smell of houses burning and flesh rotting was pungent and the sounds of screaming in the night was the soundtrack she left town listening to.

She drove fast and stopped only once for gas, counting her blessings that there was still a pump working at the small roadside gas station on a deserted stretch of highway. The state of Oregon was a blur of pine and abandoned buildings. Finally they had to stop. Rest was needed and so following Jons lead up ahead in his truck, Bex pulled off the road, her body aching and needing to uncoil itself.

She was stood at the roadside, stretching and making the most of the bottled water they shared. Neither she or Jon was talkative, both were exhausted and on edge. They had not seen Kane's truck on the road, infact Bex had noticed nobody on the road. The world seemed unnaturally still. Eventually they decided it was time to move on.

Bex had turned to get back in her car, when the sound of Jon shouting pierced the silence of the air. She had swung around startled and confused. To see him surrounded by three maybe four men. Although it could have been more. She had no idea where they came from, and instantly started to run to him, desperate to help him. Jon's voice was lost as the sounds of blows landing began and she herself began to yell and scream desperate and terrified , confused at what the hell was happening.

As one turned to approach her she froze realizing she stood no chance. She backed away slowly her eyes darting between the approaching man and the scrum of bodies on the road. It was then Jons voice rose above the sounds of the fighting yelling at her to run. "BEX, DRIVE NOW! DON'T STOP!" Backing away and fumbling with her keys, she threw herself into the car and took off. For the first time in her entire life she did as Jon told her, without question or argument.

She drove fast until the light began fading. The sounds of the old beat up car she had bought over a year ago, had changed. The milage had proved to much. The old engine finally sputtering its last pained breath near a road sign marking a place called Arklay. Her eyes remained fixed on the rear view mirror. Waiting for Jon to appear on the horizon. She stayed there until darkness fell. Every second that passed without him appearing filling her with more fear than she thought possible. It had never occurred to her that maybe he would not make it. He always did...he always came through for her.

Finally with only the moonlight now to guide her, Bex gathered her things. Her back pack was already packed with food and water for a few days at least. The small can of mace she kept in the glove compartment was slipped into the pocket of her jacket, along with a box of matches and a half eaten pack of M&M's. She scribbled a note for Jon which she left on dash and then she zipped the back pack closed. The note book and pencil squashed in with packets dried food and bottles of water.

She climbed out of the car after pulling the trunk release and took the tire iron she carried around with her. The weight of it in her hand was reassuring. She hauled the backpack onto her shoulders, and adjusted the straps feeling the weight dig into her flesh and grunting at the heavy load as she got used to it. finally she looked back again at the now dark road. Willing him to appear...closing her eyes a moment she composed herself, the sound of a rustle to her left causing a shiver to roll over her. She gripped the tire iron tighter and took a look again at the roadsign. The moonlight illuminating the reflective panel . Arklay Island. Two Miles. Glancing one last time at the car and the various things inside that she could not carry, Bex took the key from the ignition and closed the car door...old habits die hard.

((Look forwards to meeting and RPing with ya !))
