Name: Covington, Gabrielle (or "Rielle" for short)

Rank: Corporal (honorable discharge, 2008)

Branch of Service: Army (former 3rd Infantry Division)

Place of Birth: Tempe, Arizona

Place of Residence before Z-Day: Mesa, Arizona

Age: 32

Background: Gabrielle, or "Rielle", was attached to the Army 3rd Infantry during Operation Iraqi Freedom, and was part of the convoy in which several of her brothers in arms died, including PFC Lori Piestewa of the 507th Maintenance Company, whom she had gotten to know due to their shared residence in the state of Arizona. She also participated in several CQBs during the operation. She re-upped her service for one more four year tour, but the nightmares from those missions haunted her and she did not re-up. Using her GI Bill and loans, she went to college for social services, earning her bachelor's degree. She got a position in the Veteran's Affairs office at Mesa Community College in Mesa, Arizona to help other veterans get degrees.

She always kept fit and would hike the various mountains surrounding Phoenix, mostly Piestewa Peak (formerly Squaw Peak, renamed in honor of Lori), and while she found some solace there, the nightmares still came. During a semester break, she took a vacation to hike the mountains outside of a little town called Arklay, then Z-Day happened. She eventually made her way through the mountains to Arklay, the only way to keep herself from breaking down was to revert to her military training and mindset ingrained into her during her service.

Personality: She can be strict due to her military training and mindset, but that only hides the pained, troubled woman that she keeps walled up in fear of becoming useless when she is needed the most. She tries to be friendly, but still carries that military air about her, which can put some people off.
