KalisaidHI!! So I want to broach the subject of Group Leads and Private Business owners here so that it is open for discussion. First I want to say for private business owners and renters alike, it is NOT about the L$, it’s about roleplay. The sim is designed to provide individuals with the ability to take on key roles as business owners and group leads. It also offers the opportunity for individuals to propose their own groups and bands and take on roles that are a bit more active in terms of rp. When proposing a group or a business, or when applying to become a group lead, it is expected that the person applying for the position does have the time to devote to the sim and help push, foment, and create roleplay-- not only within their group, but also to encourage interaction with other groups. It is expected that the group lead stays abreast with sim wide activities and storylines, and while it is not mandatory to participate in those, it is encouraged. When people join a group or a band they do look to their lead for, well, leadership! To help provide RP and interaction, and in Outbreak, which focuses on survival, it should be even more so. In a world where people have lost all or most of their immediate family, the people that they interact with the most become their family of sorts and, for many, jobs become more than just jobs. The point of all this is that we have noticed many people applying for these positions, being awarded these positions and then letting them fizzle out. Yes, it is true that RL comes first, and we do believe that people that put in these proposals are well-intentioned, and understand these expectations. I know myself the excitement of starting something new, a new storyline, decorating a shop, etc. But you know what? The people that also join your group do so because they too have gotten excited about it, or your group or business has sparked an idea for their own storyline, or your idea fits their background and now you’ve given their character a place, and that has them excited too. They want in! But when you start this group, when you take on this key position and don’t follow through, it’s not just your storyline and RP that is affected--anyone that joined your group is affected, the community who might have expected to rp with you for whatever it was you offered, is affected too. Also, someone that may have wanted to propose a similar idea but didn’t because you did is affected, or maybe you had a stronger proposal than they did. In the end we all want what’s best for the sim. So we ask that if you are going to propose to lead a group that you do have the time available and the will to commit to it. That you are really seeking to LEAD. If you find you can't commit, as real life often changes, or realize that this position or storyline isn’t as exciting as you thought it might be, if you aren’t having fun with it and need help or want to do something else, let us know as soon as you can so we can help you out or find another arrangement that works
