Some interesting new features are heading to SL and while I have my eyes set on improving staff tools and adding new features on the sim, I thought it would be a good time to call some of these things out.

“Media on a Prim”

We could create a more immersive experience by bringing web-based visuals/info back in-world. It could be simple things like instead of clicking a poster to see faction cred, it could be just displayed in world onto the poster like it was part of it. Give me some ideas of simple things we can do?

Visual Complexity Metric

This is great – mesh usage has been out of control, IMO, and folks don’t realize the number of large textures that are wrapped in a lot of objects these days. This is why I haven’t updated a lot of the builds in world – but I’m slowly finding things that can be replicated into multiple areas and giving it a shot. Anyways, it’s important that we educate our players so expect to see stuff in-world that will detect folks scripts/mesh beyond what the viewer will do now.
