OVERVIEW:

 

To act as a source of conflict and run the Fringe as a dangerous, violent and dark place to be.

 

No-one noticed it happening, people slipping away from town into the wildness of The Fringe. The outcasts, the thieves, murderers and cut-throats as well as those who just didn’t fit in.

 

They didn’t notice these smaller groups gathering together and creating a camp, an alternative society right under Arklay’s nose.

 

The rebels aren't bad, though some might be, they aren't good, though some might have good intentions, they are every shade of grey. The rebel way of life might be rougher and sometimes more barbaric than that within the town limits as they settle disputes rather than by the rule of law but by fists and knives.

 

The rebels seek to control The Fringe, and live by thieving, scavenging, trading with the town, or some may even have jobs within Arklay’s limits. But what the rebels value most above all else is freedom to do what they like, when they like.

 

Rebels give a home to anyone, whether they be a traitor, thief, murderer or freak. They will open their arms to those exiled from Arklay on one condition; you don't shit where you eat. Those who are disruptive to the group may find themselves tossed into the fighting pit.

 

The eventual aim of the rebels isn't to destroy Arklay or Arklay's way of life as other groups have attempted, they aren't raiders and in fact despise them as a scourge on every kind of society and will wipe them out wherever possible often in a dramatic fashion to teach other raider groups a lesson. There may often be conflict with Arklay due to the rebels often dubious morales, willingness to take in anyone who can be of use despite their history, and complete disregard for the general expectations of civilised society.

 

Instead the rebels want to provide a refuge where those with troubles in town can exist without constantly being shot at or chased. Where they can thrive without fear. Where they can live, not just survive.

POTENTIAL ENEMY: Outbreak Keepers, VPA, any source of law and order.

EXPERIENCE:I've been admin in Outbreak for 12 months or so, and ran The Dollhouse, The ATC, and most recently The Four.

IDEAS:The Rebels will seek out those like them - the lawless, the criminals, the outcasts and offer them a home - especially to those strange characters who don't fit quite into society's box.
