The Eights

OVERVIEW: I have seen the Eights go through a few leads while I have been on Outbreak. To me, the Eights is a community within a community. People are expected to work together to not only keep our home safe and secure, but to support and help each other. This is something I have always strived to do with Stella as a character. She is currently a member of the R&R and eagerly volunteers to protect people on the island already. She considers Arklay to be home, and that continues with the people who live there. As someone who already scavenges regularly on mainland, she has the means of fortifying and up keeping the grounds of the Eights, and plans to do so. Safety is always a huge concern in this day and age. Having somewhere to not only live, but exist without fear of waking up to a zombie in your room or a deranged Raider knocking on your door is something I feel a lot of people would like to have. The Eights is just that. I want to make the Eights not only a place that can provide safety, but a place that provides community for not only its residents, but also for the entire island. We have had many issues with the infrastructure of the island, but no one seems to want to take on the task of fixing it. The Eights is already a place where residents work together to upkeep housing, the wall and the building itself. I would like to use these same skills that its residents have developed to work towards repairing Arklay. The Eights is sturdy and safe already. It's time to chip in outside of the wall. I plan to work in shifts and have specific roles for employee's. We will have contractors, scavengers (or contracts with already established scavenging companies like the ATC and the Comm Shop.), security and front desk workers. Contractors: People who are trained and tasked with preforming the re-build of Arklay and the upkeep of The Eights housing. These people need not necessarily have previous experience, but be willing to learn and work hard. Scavengers: Exactly what they sound like. They will accompany myself (Stella) and the Raid and Rescue to mainland to collect supplies for the rebuild, as well as re-purpose broken and ruined buildings on the island. Security: Those who will be tasked with protecting The Eights from outside threats, including, but not limited to, Raiders, Zombies and unfriendly-foes. Stella will train them, and likely hire the R&R to train them even further. Front Desk: A role for those who are perhaps not able-bodied or are not fit enough to preform other roles, but still seek somewhere to live, and want to live within The Eights. This role is the simplest, but definitely not unimportant. When the rest of the workers are out working, it is the front desks job to aid residents and keep order within the walls. Stella is the sort of person who believes in protecting good people. If you are willing to do your part to survive, you are good in her book. She has always liked the idea of the Eights, and thought it was a great structure for optimal survival. As she has been living and exploring during the outbreak, she has come across different forms of helpless people. While she appreciates life in any form, she does hold a high respect for those who are willing to work together towards a common goal. She has seen and experienced a lot during these years and has a lot to offer and plans to do just that.

EXPERIENCE:I am personally very approachable and willing to listen and take criticism and ideas. I love Outbreak and love seeing it thrive! I personally have been roleplaying for years both in SL and out of it. I take time and adhere to my character, as well as having realistic changes and developments in her. She adapts to situations as they unfold. I also love getting ideas from people, so I am someone who enjoys creating environments that are inclusive and welcoming.
