Radio-Free Arklay

OVERVIEW: WRFA, or Radio Free Arklay (950AM / 102.5FM) is a functioning low-fidelity radio station located next to the Eights on Arklay Island. With some salvaged parts from multiple supply runs and teamwork across many groups and factions, all equipment has been built or bought to supply limited radio broadcasts throughout the Island and pouring into the Mainland. The intention is to get the signal out on current news, events and such around Arklay, as well as boost the signal so non-Islanders can find their way here and be safe with us. In terms of its overall development, so far, six batteries, scavenged from the Garage crew, is powering the broadcast equipment and tower dishes. An old Dutch Radio Unie 5-Channel output mixer with microphone has been scavenged from a nearby town and hooked up inside the building by Chava. Inside the building itself, records have been salvaged. Contracts will be established and money will transfer hands for airtime.

POTENTIAL ENEMY: Politics may play an interesting role here. Smear campaigns can now be achieved over the airwaves. Additionally, Raiders and other unsavory off-Island listeners will now have access to the outgoing broadcasts and can plan something devious or even mischievous!

EXPERIENCE:IC, Ein is a fish-out-of-water when it comes to the tech aspect, but he has a message to get out. OOC, I am an award-winning film and video editor, working in the corporate video and film industry for the last twelve years.

IDEAS:Through use of walkie talkies on the same broadcast signal, increased communications between the Hospital, Police, Shelter, anywhere can now be achieved. Anyone with a message is welcome to work with us.
