OVERVIEW:

 

Object: To repair the radio station to working order as a community. It will result in the radio waves being open for announcements, weather reports, ads for community businesses and some tunes from DJ Dani.

 

Projected Time Commitment:

 

Once the station is in working order and DJ Dani has the ability to stream through Arklay.   She plans to commit to a random schedule as the generators go in and out. 1 2 hr set per month 3-4 1 hr sets per month These will have to work with Danis time zone (Eastern time) as well as her ooc schedule.

 

How to let the community know a set is on: The sets can be announced at the beginning or just before time in ooc chat and rpd in survivor chat. If DJ Dani is given perms to send notices this will be the most ideal way to get the community to tune in. To rp the sets start we could do something like use a crank siren. The idea of the radio station has been discussed ooc with some of the community members and had positive feedback.

 

There has been RP suggestions and volunteers for repairing the station and equipment as we will need many for this big project.

 

Many in the community have also indicated that they would like for this to happen with the original idea coming from a member wishing their radio worked.

 

The repair and running of the station will need:>

 

DJ Dani -working on her time zone (Eastern time) as well as her ooc schedule.>

Perms for notices and use of the Sim stream.>

working radio equipment (fixed by community)>

generators & Fuel (this is why the sets will be shorter and sometimes cut off mid way through when power goes out).>

eventually power should be run on fixed up solar panels with generator as back up only. This would add sustainability ass the town rebuilds itself out of the ruins.> workers for each specialty.

 

Once Running:> the proposed random schedule will start.> security will be needed for the safety of the DJ and to guard the equipment.> some businesses owners have asked to put adds for their places on air. Most will send Dani a note of what they want said and she will read it. Some wish to go farther and make recordings for her to play. This project can be a sustainable resource as the community builds itself up from the rubble once solar panels can make enough juice while the generator would be there as back up.
