michaell hallisonsaidThe Dollhouse (Parlour) TYPE: SLURL: BACKGROUND: BUSINESS BACKGROUND What is being known locally as "The Dollhouse" used to be a high end spa and beauty parlor linked to the Royal Palms resort called Black Orchid. The kind of place that served the tourists of Arklay, mainly older folks with blue rinsed hair who wanted a Thai rub or a hot stone bath to go along with their newly-done perm and pedicure and manicure. Occasionally a younger crowd would come for Spring Break, and Espi would sell them her home grown weed as well as prettifying the girls. When Z-Day happened the tourists stopped coming and the money dried up. Still the boss Espi kept the place open whilst the food got scarcer and the money she'd been banking wasn't any use to anyone anymore. But she still had something.....the spa which utilized the natural hot springs in the Arklay mountain, the alluring expensive soap she'd bought in bulk before the outbreak, exotic herbs and spices she'd grown and not all of them were strictly legal, and the few girls who hadn't run away or been eaten. She was a collector of old vintage luxuries, making the spa one of the few places for survivors to escape and enjoy. And one couldn't forget the girls. It was an easy lesson to learn that you needed to use what little you had to offer and for some it was just their bodies. That became the new business model. Flesh for food or become food. Her "dolls", the herbs and bath, the small luxury of a simple aged scotch, cigar and tune was what now kept Espi relevant and protected. Espi looked for a day to day manager and found a girl who was pretty, and had no useful skills for the apocalypse whatsoever, which was just what she was looking for. Buffy and Espi have since become partners with Buffy managing all the day to day business of the parlour, and Espi being the dark shadow behind it all. DOLLHOUSE OPERATIONS "The Dollhouse" is a decrepit den of vice. The only known place in Arklay and perhaps the whole of this side of California to score the home grown weed and mushrooms to take the edge off of the apocalypse, and to guarantee getting laid....for a small price of trade of course. They do not accept money unless approved by Espi or Buffy (see Dollhouse barter system.) The girls will still be trained in beautifying too, so if survivors just to be groomed, pampered and bathed that can happen, too. It is a hard life now, maybe some just want a way to smooth those calloused hands. All weapons are checked at the door, only the girls are allowed weapons inside. Extra security can be hired if needed. The girls can be sent out to trade or wait on clients coming to them. They will also recruit newer girls to the sim offering to clean them up. Sometimes girls are given to them for temporary use in trades (and they aren’t always so willing.) "The Dollhouse" will throw regular apocalypse parties - basically orgies where the price of entry will be something high, but EVERYTHING is free when they get inside. The parties are quiet and somewhat elite. Often they are thrown when a new girl has been recruited. It's not beyond them to have darker parties when a girl misbehaves. No doubt there are some that have frustrations to take out on a face that belongs to something other than a zombie. "The Dollhouse" will also try and remain neutral to the other factions - but pillow talk being what it is, its likely the "Dolls" will be able to pick up a lot of valuable information, making "The Dollhouse" a powerful ally, or enemy. DOLLHOUSE BARTER SYSTEM & CASH As stated above, cash is only accepted at the Dollhouse if approved by Espi or Buffy. As a general rule if neither of them are around, cash is fine but what these girls want is information, useful items such as ammo, favours to be given, and Espi has a taste for batteries and good music. Cash should only be accepted if the client "called a Boyfriend or Girlfriend" has nothing deemed useful enough to the group to trade. "Cash or trade?" should be the first thing a Doll asks her new boyfriend or girlfriend. If the answer is cash then the Doll can set her own price for her services and keeps the cash. If it's trade it has to be something that will be useful to the group and a notecard of the barter sent to Buffy so the groups inventory can be collated. Every so often Doll's will be asked to pay a total percentage of their available cash (usually ten percent) to Buffy or Espi. This is their stipend for being a Doll. This will be used to pay for medical treatments for the girls, making bribes to other factions, and general upkeep (plus keeping Espi in the style to which shes accustomed.)) THE DOLLHOUSE & DRUGS The Dollhouse operate their own small cannabis and mushroom garden. These items are not to be traded or bought and not taken out of the premises. They are for Dollhouse customers and Dolls, for use in the Dollhouse only. EXPERIENCE:Much like my character I'm talkative, friendly and even sometimes insightful. I've had experience of both the highs and the lows of leading a group like this and have come out the wiser for it. I'm this sims cheerleader because I think it has so much potential so you'll always find me 100 percent passionate, and I'm ideas girl - hey they might always be GOOD ideas, but I do have a creative spark.
