meridiaan lucklesssaidThe Synidcate / Well Workers FOUNDING MEMBERS: Angeal Galtier OVERVIEW: The Syndicate are a collection of outcasts. Their talents and personalities vary widely, though they are joined by one clear and simple directive. Why just survive, when you can live? They come together under the promise of protection and sense of purpose. These individuals are those who don't quite fit into the happy mold and good neighbor vibe which makes up the majority of the inner walls of Arklay. They prefer the fringe, outside the reach of the Watchmen, where strength, cleverness and stamina rule over the weak, stupid, and cowardice. They believe nothing is yours unless you have the power to keep it, and while they work with the community to try and maintain a basic semblance of civility. Make no mistake they will always choose their own over another. With control over the only working water purification system on the island. They hold the market in free clean sustainable water. Their leader holding a background in analytical chemistry and Mechanical engineering, she has taken over maintaining the Wells and Warehouse which is now the shelter for her rag-tag team if misfits and bandits. The Syndicate are a staging point for many travelers from the mainland. The alignment with the ATC allows for easy passive to and from the island, allowing them to raid and pillage away from home. Their members would also be encouraged to mingle within the town limits, gaining the trust of the business owners in order to further our own goals. While they may even form real bonds with those outside the faction. Their loyalty would always belong to the Syndicate. POTENTIAL ENEMY: The watchmen will have their hands full with these bandits, rogues and renegades. EXPERIENCE:I'm an old school role-player, both in my 12 years in SL and more than two decades as a Larper, table top, free form and forum RP. I live for the story and the adventure, and always look to help others around me to further their our storyline. My leadership experience is vast. As a DM/ Storyteller for many years in real life. I have also been a mentor, faction leader, or admin for 5 different roleplay communities over the years and remained with them until their inevitable end. Sadly this is the way of most rp communities nowadays. But I take something new from each experience to bring t the next. I am currently an admin for the GWMMORPG Eternal Conflict: Angels 7 Demons, as well the soon to be released EC: Afterlife. However this should not interfere with my ability to run and be active here in outbreak at least 4 or more days a week. As a faction leader I would strive to give Arklay what it really needs. A protagonist & RP conflict. I would always do what is best for the story. I am able to walk that fine line as a bad guy while maintaining a friendly and fair demeanor OOC. I will never be in it for my own ego, and will be happy to lose, retreat etc to further the community RP. IDEAS:All new members would be required to prove their worth, IC, in some manner. I would use this as a way to integrate new players in the community. An example would be " Go to the farmer's market and obtain X amount of vegetables while spending no more than X amount of money. Forcing them to strike a deal and bargain. They would be encouraged to be creative with it. I would also always be brainstorming new ideas to offer the community ongoing sim wide stories so all will always have something to do, even when things get slow. By being active and available the players will always have someone to go and know there will be something new to do. but I'll keep these ideas to myself for now :p |
