Yesterday, I got up early and made some wheat crackers and infused some stinging nettle tea for Sugar to eat in the early morning so she doesn’t get morning sickness. It’s a real sucky way for her to start her days and I feel bad for her. We’ve gathered enough supplies that we are eating all right, but still it’s not like the normal healthy diet she’d be getting while pregnant if the world wasn’t screwed six-ways to Sunday. Anyway, on with the day…After that chore was done I went scavenging for wood with Jim and we did some foraging in the woods along the way. Some walkers came by and we laid low in the shrub about 25 feet from them. We were just getting ready to have to fight them when there was a loud sound coming from the direction of town and they turned away to go find it. Lucky for us, but maybe not so lucky for some one else. When we were back in town, we did some work over at Eights, which is sort of an endless task. After I set a bunch of plants, veggies and fish to sun dry. Finally, it got late and the sun was setting so I made a pot of beans and rice, plus a salad from the green I foraged in the woods. Jim and I laid on the bed and made up stories together, until well…never mind about the other part. It was real nice though.
