Jim Bowie: Little brown wagon

Posted by

I’m gonna fix your wagon. I never did get that when my Nanna Bowie would say that when I was up to no good down in East Texas. That comment was usually followed by a firm swat to my ass. Ah well now I get why that applied so well.  Fixin a wagon is a hard thing to get it just right. I got me a little cart and I been hauling around this little car for some time all over Arklay,(well when time allowed) collecting things.  I have worked to remove studs, pipes (copper and PVC) and big ol’ beams. I have pulled wiring and all sorts of things from damaged buildings and have all kinds of different. It was lonely and sometimes dangerous work if my work disturbed walkers.  I done some descent trade from it with the Dixons and others.  Now I find every day that life is gonna fix my wagon because I have been finding less and less to scavenge. All good things come to an end. Now I dream of making a run of island to a Home Depot, like some little slice of heaven, full of hardware supplies.  I sure hope that Miss Gensa and her crew stay safe out there doing runs.
