2017.02.02 — Dear Journal,
I arrived today onto this island and, hoping to find some friendly survivors, I’ve been wandering the streets aimlessly. I came across a shelter at the hospital and that was nice, I guess. I got to lie down on an actual mattress (who cares how clean it was — it was soft!) and was provided with an apple and a can of cat food (yuk! but thanks). I’ve only come across a handful of people. Only one seemed even slightly friendly. I’m sure there are more around. I just have to keep looking and maintain a positive attitude. So far, this place looks like my best chance for continuing to survive. I’ll try to keep this updated but, journal … you know how I am … I may get lax about it.
