End of day 3 on the island.

Got a job as a mechanic at the shop in town; it’ll be nice to be useful again and to make some money. There’s a dog there, which certainly helps morale. Haven’t gotten to know ‘im yet, but looking forward to sharing some kibble with the big guy. Jubal brought home a ton of furniture piece by piece today. Now to get the well water running through the house and a makeshift water heater going with the wood burning stove.   I took a look at the blueprints left in the house… some things are smudged beyond recognition, but there’s definitely a septic tank and leach field under there.  All I need is some components to get some solar panels up and running, and we’ll have an almost pre-infection home. Once that’s all done, I plan on pitching some ideas to folks around to make the settlements about run a bit cleaner and more efficiently like i did in Moapa River. I’m missing Emily more and more each day; we put her picture up in the house. It’s good to remember her as she was instead of… well, what we left her as. Still feel guilty every time I look Jubal in the eye, but Em would tell me to stay strong for ‘im, give him what she couldn’t.
