I do agree that some aspects of peoples character appearance can use changes, but understand some things.
Beards on the MP are almost always well-kept in appearance, nobody buys a scruffy Trevor from GTAV-type beard.
99% of clothes on the marketplace are clean. There simply isn’t much for dirty.

I do like the idea of the ship crashing into the island, but it would be ‘out of the sim’ so-to speak. I with your draw distance high enough, one would observe that the island is surrounded by mountainous terrain with a small opening occupied by a lighthouse, it would take someone ICly venturing outwards to discover this crashed vessel.
