KayKay StinesaidFaith of the After Days FOUNDING MEMBERS: Aerynna Resident, Vincent Masatada OVERVIEW: “Admit it. In the beginning. When your friends started dying and rising back up, you caught yourself praying. Asking the Big Man upstairs for help. Asking the Lady in the Sky to send down some divine intervention. Maybe you were just asking for a sign, but you were asking. There ain’t nothing wrong with that, now, don’t get me wrong. It’s really basic human nature. Wanting someone bigger, stronger, more in charge to step in and tell you what to do during disasters. It’s easier being led, than it is to blaze the path for most folks. Ain’t nothin’ wrong with that… Ain’t nothing wrong with that, but… But here’s the thing... Did anyone answer your prayers? Was a sign sent down, did some voice miraculously sound in the back of your head? If it did y’might want to get yourself checked down at the hospital ‘cause I’m telling you. Ain’t nobody, or nothing answered any of our prayers. That’s because if there was a big man up top, he’s probably hungry for brains too. Ain’t nobody answering our prayers, so you know what that means, right? We’ve got to answer them ourselves…” ------------------------- Group Background: There are no long-drawn out chains of explanation. No solid reasoning for such an eclectic bunch, except for the communities they drifted from before arriving to Arklay. Places worse off. Places with corrupt cops still on the task force making life hell. Places with raids and levels of human indecency that would make a dictator blush. It all started with a singular realization. An old mantra that finally enveloped itself in one’s daily morals; “Be the Change.” Until they decided to do just that. Members of the Faith maintain a singular belief that if something needs to be done, if change is needed, it is their responsibility to see it forward in lue of Higher Powers. They are members of the community looking to do more to answer what has been left silent for too long… ---------------- Group Purpose: Faith of the After Days will function as a Chaotic Neutral entity on Arklay Island. It’s purpose is to provide words of hope, healing, and answer prayers from the community; in short. Providing words of Hope: Like all faith-related entities, seminars and sermons-of-sorts would be offered to the community on any given day (Likely the same day, weekly, with varying times to appeal to differing time zones). These discussions would likely be slanted towards keeping hope in the apocalypse; survival tips, survivor stories, etc. Words of Healing: This aspect of the ‘church’ would be done in collaboration with various businesses around Arklay; both private, and sim-wide. Time slots such as these would be ideal for flu-shot clinics, venereal testing, cooking classes, and pot-lucks. Answering of Prayers: Like confession, members of the Faith would be available throughout the day to partake in the listening of prayer from members of the community. What happens with these prayers, then ranges… Perhaps they are considered, and pushed aside in the meantime. Perhaps something miraculously happens to see them fulfilled. Depending on the day, donations to the Faith may strongly sway the prospect of fulfilled desires. -------------------- Aligning Businesses: In being presented as a faith-organization, we feel this leaves it open to interaction with nearly all business on Arklay; which we would love to see and foster. We would love to work with the Shelter, offering another donation box location, and hosting community ‘talks’ or seminars/training events for survivors. Sam N’Ella’s for potlucks, and community dinners, classes, etc. POTENTIAL ENEMY: Just as everyone is a potential ally, everyone can just as easily be a potential enemy. In standing as a chaotic neutral establishment, no one is safe, yet no one is in overt danger. For those who keep seeing 'chaotic neutral' and have no idea what it is I'm talking about: Chaotic neutral represents true freedom from both society's restrictions and a do-gooder's zeal. EXPERIENCE:I have been around Outbreak since opening week on and off; as well as having run a prominent sim location in the past. As a leader, I enjoy creating plots to draw players in, as well as fostering events for group-members to feel a collective purpose. I strive towards cohesive roleplay, and having been writing for well over eight-years in second life. IDEAS:Community Events. First and foremost, to draw players in. I also feel the approach to answering prayers may be (Hopefully) something that appeals to many players. Characters stuck in a do-gooder rut, that need something bad to happen to a 'friend' would need only 'pray' and walk away letting Faith take the wheel. Likewise. 'Bad' characters that maybe took too much of a shine to a recent victim but can't let their reputation be impacted, need only do a little 'praying' and let the outcome fall where it may. Players interested in having an integral role within the group would readily be welcomed, and play would dictate how quickly/far they rise within the ranks. Follow me: |
