Dr. Jay Sindhu, also known as Jaidev, is rather forward when it comes to his bedside manner. He has little reservation when it comes to giving a diagnosis without a sugar coating. It may seem a bit callous, but the honesty is a virtue the doctor lives by. On the contrary however, he can be a bit elusive when it comes to sharing personal thoughts. It's an issue of trust more so than reserving judgment on issues.

---

Jay Sindhu is a second generation immigrant whose parents emigrated from India to California in 1975. Both parents were hard working and impressed that upon Jay and his two other siblings. Through their efforts, they managed to afford a stable living condition while earning just enough to help push their children into school.
Education is very important to the Sindhu family. Jay was pushed, sometimes a bit forcefully, to enroll in activities that would help grant future financial aid into college. He pursued intellectual after school activities, such as the chess and debate clubs. Through participation in those clubs, and successful applications for grants, he earned small scholarships to aid in his enrollment.

Jay graduated with a degree in medicine and went on to become a doctor specializing in general practice. He took up an occupation as a family doctor within a small clinic financially backed by the Deimos Alliance. The affiliation brought many experimental medicines, which were more or less forced upon Jay to prescribe. To his dismay, the doctor found it a rather difficult burden that patients could not be treated with proven and effective medicines manufactured by other companies. It is with some resentment toward the megacorporation, that he played out the role as one of their pill pushers. What retained his employment with him however was the boon of insurance benefits and the opportunity to work in a well maintained facility.

Early days of the outbreak brought about personal conflict for Jay. He could take the opportunity and flee a midst the chaos, absolving him of his affiliation, or maintain his oath as a doctor and stay to help those in need. In the end, his good nature won over. Jay kept on as a doctor, helping to tend to those sick and wounded in their darkest times of need.

It was not long before his city, and the clinic, fell to the oncoming afflicted hordes of the Contagion. Jay perhaps would not survived nor made it to Arklay, if not for the evacuation assistance the Deimos Alliance provided to its workers. When the helicopter came to take him away, Jay had to leave everything and everyone, friends and family, behind. The only things within his possession are the few scraps of medical supplies he and his peers managed to bring with them for the ride.

Now not once, but twice is Jay grateful for the assistance brought by the Deimos Alliance. The megacorporation has saved his life and for that, he feels indebted to them. His allegiance however may falter again. He may be able to overlook a few suspicious incidents, but anything of a grand, disastrous nature is not something he could abide by. Time may tell regarding where his loyalty truly lies.
