Task Force Rainbow (TFR)
By Kazuyaki Resident

FOUNDING MEMBERS:  Atreyu Neximus, Chrome Highwater

OVERVIEW:

Background:

In the aftermath of the Outbreak, Task Force Rainbow (TFR/Rainbow) was formed by remnants of various militaries worldwide from the Americas to Europe to Asia. The founders of TFR came together in Southeast Asia, specifically Indonesia, which was made up of Operators from different military units, both frontline and special forces, such as the British, the Russians, the Germans, Japanese, the Chinese, the Americans, and so on. Indonesia was chosen as Rainbow’s staging area initially due to the presence of various units already operating in the area due to the infection. Thus, Rainbow was formed through a meeting with the leaders of those units, which was accomplished by setting up a meeting via broadcasting a short-wave radio transmission. Hence, Rainbow was the units’ initial response to establish an independent chain of command (CoC) due to the lack of communication with the units’ respective regional CoCs. Since the formation of Rainbow, the Task Force has made their way across the world by land and sea by starting from Indonesia. As Rainbow moved from Indonesia into Malaysia by sea, Rainbow then made its way across the rest of Asia by land before moving onto Europe. After Europe, then Africa. After Africa, then South America by sea. From South America, Rainbow worked its way up to Central America, and then finally North America near the border of California. Along the way, Rainbow had worked up a considerable cache of weapons, ammo, and useful gear among other things. This was achieved by providing support and assistance to viable communities in the form of training such as weapons handling, logistics, medical assistance, perimeter security, tactical training, etc. In return for their efforts, those who benefited from Rainbow’s assistance and support gave them some weapons, ammo, and other gears that may be useful during Rainbow’s travels. Along with this, Rainbow had been recruiting many people into their ranks during their travels, in which their ranks were divided into two types of personnel: Essentials and Non-Essentials. Essential personnel were made up of those with combat experience ranging from your average soldier to a special forces operator to even a person who had never shot a gun before. On the contrary, Non-Essentials were made up of those who made up the bulk of Rainbow, which were essentially Logistics and Support such as doctors, technicians, engineers, etc. There were some who were also considered as intelligence with Rainbow too; however, as Rainbow was always on the move, there was not much of a need for intelligence during this time. However, this would all change completely in one night as Rainbow had set up camp in California near the ocean. For the moment, they weren’t expecting any company as their presence in the region had gone largely unannounced and unnoticed, for good reason. However, since Rainbow gained some renown due to their well-intended efforts and capabilities, this resulted in them gaining hostility from other groups who were not given the same treatment as Rainbow. Hence, on that night, Rainbow’s camp was ambushed hard by one of those hostile groups, which still remains unidentified to this day. Lives were lost, both Essentials and Non-Essentials. While Rainbow’s Essentials were fighting back against the unidentified group, the Non-Essentials were evacuating as quickly as they could while grabbing what they could. As an emergency protocol, if any hostile element, no matter if it’s an individual or an enemy, was going to take hold of Rainbow’s supply cache, the supply cache would be destroyed by an explosive to ensure it remained out of enemy hands, which was what Rainbow did. In the aftermath of the attack, Rainbow met up at a pre-assigned emergency rendezvous (ERZ) point in case of such an incident. Over the two years since their existence, they had never met such hostility before and thus, never considered it as a very real possibility. Hence, as a result, this led to a lot of casualties for Rainbow. At the ERZ, not many Rainbow personnel were left after the attack. A search couldn’t be conducted for the other personnel as the area still posed a high threat at the time. Thus, a tactical retreat was called and all Rainbow personnel present at the ERZ made their way towards a beach. Commandeering a boat, they made their way towards an island, which would become known to them as Arklay Island.

Purpose:

Rainbow exists solely for the purpose of survival. In doing so, it has helped other communities in their efforts to survive by providing support and assistance through training, etc. Sometimes, Rainbow gives local law enforcement a boost in manpower with their own Essentials, providing reinforcements when necessary. As far as it goes, Rainbow has transformed from being a group made of people in various countries' armed forces initially to being a group of people from many countries with many different professions.

Flaws

Rainbow's flaws lies in its personnel. As Rainbow is reeling from a recent attack where most of their personnel are either current or missing, this is reminiscent of when the infection first made its appearance. Being faced with such a tragedy, Rainbow's personnel may sometimes resort to taking extreme measures should they feel justified in doing so. Along with this, Rainbow personnel had a knack for doing whatever was deemed necessary to accomplish their goals. Not only this, TFR's Commander is only 23 years old, which is quite young for someone to be leading such a force. The only reason for this was due to his ability to analyze and act effectively. However, this leaves a large room for area due to his inexperience, which is also a flaw of Rainbow itself.

Business

Rainbow would align itself with The Dollhouse. Due to its current situation, Rainbow needs intelligence to properly assess the community and get a good idea of who is a possible friend/foe before moving forward with any of their activity(s). After all, information is the most valuable kind of currency there is in the world.

POTENTIAL ENEMY:

Allies:  Arklay Emergency Services (AES) -Arklay Trading Company -The Dollhouse -Coach's Pub -The Watchmen -AEGIS Security Services -The Crew -The Eights -Sam'N'Ellas -Dixon's Garage -General Store

Enemies:  Arklay Trading Company -The Dollhouse -The Watchmen -AEGIS Security Services -The Crew -The Eights

EXPERIENCE:

I have led former groups, both intelligence-themed and military-themed, in the past such as ASEAN Armed Force, Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Joint Intelligence Service (JIS), and various others. Along with this, I have a strong ability for leading as I make decisions based on logic rather than emotion. Plus, I'm an INTJ as well.

IDEAS:

By giving them a place in our faction through the way our ranks are set up: Essential personnel are made up of those with combat experience ranging from your average soldier to a special forces operator to even a person who had never shot a gun before. On the contrary, Non-Essentials are made up of those who made up the bulk of Rainbow, which were essentially Logistics and Support such as doctors, technicians, engineers, etc.
