Notice to Sam n’ Ella’s Diner Employees (ooc info):

I’m kinda excited to lead the diner!  I live in California, so my times on are SLT, weekdays around 6pm til about 11 pm.  I’m also part of the Outbreak Staff, so if you need anything I’m always available.  Kali will also be looking for a manager soon to watch over things when I’m not around.  Managers make a little more HUD$ than a regular employee, so I will be looking for someone dependable, who is here often, understands the environment, and follows the story line.

Kali (used to run Coach’s) has returned from being gone for 2 months, and, needing something to do has taken over the diner.  I look forward to RP’ing with you, so don’t be shy and come down.

Speaking of RP, I will periodically clean out the roster.  Anyone with 0 minutes in over 2 weeks will be marked down to new hire and lose access to the commodity (steaks).  You will have to come in and RP to regain regular status.  Anyone cam clicking for the commodity will be marked inactive.  If you want to RP stealing from the diner, I’m down for it, deal with the consequences if you get caught!

I’m also looking to create a “family” within the group, for people to stick together, show loyalty.  We should be looking out for each other, all pitching in to make the diner work, since it’s what will support us.  As long as you are loyal Kali will, just as she did with Coach’s, help out her employees with food and water and other necessities.

In that spirit here are a few things you and your character should know/would know/or would encounter if they come RP, so that we can all be on the same page.

• There is lots to do.  Cleaning up, reorganizing, hunting, gathering, gathering firewood, etc.  IC’ly things are kept pretty spotless and Kali would have left standing orders to clean as you go.  We would bring sea water up from the beach to wash down the tables and benches and the floors daily, or every other day.  Your character doesn’t have to obey, of course, but we can play that out (conflict among characters is good!)

• As it stands right now, we don’t have anything to serve.  Please, no one sell steaks or food, unless you want to rp you went hunting yourself, cleaned and dressed the animal and put it on the grill.  That doesn’t mean there is no rp at the diner.  Just rp that we don’t have stuff until someone gets meat.

• Ideally we will have one menu item per day.  Like the day’s special, with very few other things on the side, unless we come by things.  One day it might be venison stew, another chicken soup (or turkey since they are wild here in California), etc..  The commodity offered will still be steak (can’t change that), but IC’ly we would be serving something else.  We’ll discuss this IC’ly when the time comes and I’ll put up a sign with the day’s menu.

• We hunt, or pay someone to hunt.  The grill is ooc’ly bottomless, but I am a stickler for being able to account for what you have as much as possible.  Watch for updates, there will be times we are out of food.  I don’t want or need the hunting commodities, we have the steaks, so it's mainly RP food we’d be looking to pay for.  So if someone comes around with a fresh dead deer in a wheelbarrow (RP’d), Kali would probably buy it.  Someone will have to clean it and dress it.

• At this point, we don’t have “take out” containers or whatever, or disposable cutlery to give out ‘to go’.  We might have a lot of old tupperware or margarine bowls, but if anyone wants food “to go” they need to bring their own containers (we do make exceptions, up to you to get the bowls back and deal with Kali when she sees they are missing, and we know how that was BEFORE the apocalypse).  Likewise, we don’t have napkins, condiments, etc.

• We don’t have bags to pack things up nice.  In fact, we don’t have a lot of nice things.  Glassware and dinnerware break, harder to replace.  But Kali will pay/buy if anyone comes around peddling things that would be useful.  Food is served in mismatched bowls and dishes, old tupperware containers, margarine tubs, etc.

• IC Drama and Bullshit are encouraged in this establishment -- IC.  It’s good for rp and developing interpersonal relationships.

• We are friendly with Coach’s - at least Kali is, it was her first home and Peaches and Paul are good friends.  Anyone wanting to work/moonlight at Coach’s won’t get beef from Kali (working other places, not so much!).  If there is any trouble at the Diner, Coach’s should be your first stop/go-to.
