I had the same problem of no button with the journal link from the notice.  Now looking at it I see a button with the journal entry, following the link from the original notice, and I saw a media button, but it did not take my picture as an upload.  I thought at first it was the picture, but no, the picture uploaded with the normal “happening n…[Read more]

Advice: Don’t ever try to get a woman with Scottish blood drunk to calm them down. Nope don’t work, they stay stone sober and then just feel no pain, and never tell such a woman in a bar in front of folks you are married. Yeah that did not work out quite like I thought it would and I got the black eye to prove it. Love ya, Serena.

Well, I don’t know, I feel like I am holding the world together with bailing wire, duct tape and glue. The eights is a series of bad wiring, faulty plumbing, disintegrating particle board, and leaky roofing. I suppose someone has to do it. Got some good men around now so maybe we, wait and uh women, yeah meant that too, well, folk that can h…[Read more]

Sure I see what you, Buffy and Blossom, are saying it is just story wise difficult if over time nothing changes especially in a survival story.  Already functioning as the maintenance guy I have reasonable people saying fix the fence, can we build this, can we fix that?  All reasonable questions. That was why I wondered about a proposal system to…[Read more]

Thank you for your suggestions and that is about all that can be done at present, but in a survival rp it will become difficult to keep up the realism if people don’t do the realistic things, currently only 40 days into it you might still be telling yourself it will settle out.  I suppose I am stuck with it as is for now, hope the admin and story…[Read more]

Okay so I was wondering as I am rping as a carpenter/mason how I am going to show in reality improvements.  For example at The Eights.  Logically, I think first thing I would do as a real person would be to shore up any gaps in the fencing and would go around collecting and harvesting the lumber out of buildings to create at minimum secure w…[Read more]

Fix’er upper? Being in construction I worked on a lot of property for commercial and rentals, you know flipping property. Used to be my dream back when the market was good to flip houses. Then the market crashed just as I was ready to get into doing that. Work came to a grinding halt in construction and times for a guy like me were not so great h…[Read more]

I ain’t in charge! I don’t know how I ended up with folks asking me stuff at The Eights, but I keep saying I ain’t in charge, not the owner, ain’t the manager, just the maintenance guy. Met Shawn and Buffy, Gena, now Chance and some woman Mickey. See others going into The Eights, but who they are don’t know. If I got to work, they got to wo…[Read more]

Strange, yeah that’s too obvious a way to describe things now; like looking in dusty fun house mirror all the same but grimy and twisted. Yep, that about sums it up. There was this apartment, pretty ratty, but I lived in worse. It was like walking into a life interrupted. All the things were there from some previous life, just sitting there like a…[Read more]

Son of a likeable convict and bitter, bitter bar maid, Jim Bowie was bound to become a hard-drinking, fist-fighting son of a bitch from the last broke down trailer house on the wrong side of town.  That was okay he was alright with that. He tried to be better man than his father and became a carpenter and made some good money and even dreamed of…[Read more]

Serena and I been together, what like, about I think 2 weeks. Smart girl, yeah smart, so latched onto her. Before I met Serena, I had thought I would head out of the city when it got bad, so took my pickup and all my tools from the job site, but well, it all got commandeered by some National Guard guys who claimed it was for the greater good.…[Read more]

We are 40 days into a crisis. What I may as individuals have to start the game. I understand no fire arms and no crossbows. Can we have some items? My character is a carpenter, could he have a tool belt, hammer, chisels, wrench, screw driver, pocket knife. I understand the purpose of scarcity in a story like this, but am trying to understand what…[Read more]
