It’s been almost a year before I’ve finally decided to address the issue of characters under the age of 18 in Outbreak.
Let me start off by saying that I am a big opponent of any rules or policy that limit stories and creativity. To simply ban child characters because “they are annoying”, “I am afraid they will ruin my RP”, or “LL will…[Read more]
So after months of observation, I wanted to let you know that commodities have been tweaked across the board. Overall, I’ve decreased their potency to encourage trade among players … there are a number of players with a ton of money and ton of hunted meat. Remember, eating hunted meat can be risky business!

Technically scavenging, hunting, and any other stat that is starting to count visibly now is retroactive (they were just tracked a different way in the database that you don’t see).
I really like the idea of spawning raiders in the city and rare commodities like guns, larger cash loots, and crate supplies. Basically, anything that would help further trade on the island.
Pretty cool concept. I had someone recommend the idea of introducing “stress” as a bar too.

Next round of commodities (establishing a monthly cadence for releases) will include a daily source of water (similar to scavenging). When I have time to finish the “sickness” feature, it would be cool if people got sick sometimes from drinking “bad water” but for the time being, it will provide the most minimal amount of water…[Read more]
