Lilith’s Journey

Day 1

After arriving in Arklay, Lilith was disappointed with what she saw. When her old teacher had spoken of this place, it had been made out to sound like a santuary – a place before the epidemic struck. But it was full of dilapidated buildings and commodities that were so scarce, she couldn’t believe it.

She met Missy, who gave her some food and introduced her to Ai, the doctor at AES.

Then she met Claire at the store and told her all about jobs, making money and guns.

Then she met Ham-Man (Dane) and Chava outside the garage when she was caught dumpster diving. The conversation was going swell, with Ham-Man offering up some Ham (hence then name as she never learned his real name) and water. But Chava mentioned that there were other dangers in Arklay in regards to people and unfortunately, it made Lilith a little paranoid.

The next two people who showed up were met with Lilith’s new found paranoia and she had made up her own backstories about them:

[20:30] Lilith Xomotron looked at the newcomers as if they were the danger she had just heard about. She could barely see them through the rain and started assuming the worst. In her head, she was making up her own backstories for them. They were siblings and brought up in an orphanage with cold gruel to eat (so catfood would be a luxury), and as time went on, they grew accustomed to a hard life and wanted revenge on the world, so when the epidemic started, they opened up a seedy business in an abandoned warehouse there they kidnapped people and forced them to take on the inflicted, getting jollies out of watching the innocents suffer and be inflicted themselves. Yes, that must be it. Why else would they be walking around in the rain?! One of them even looked as if he were wearing a hood … to hide his face in case those he kidnapped broke free. And as the assumptions ran through her head, she took an involuntary step towards the Ham Man before considering what he had said about not trusting him either and stepping away from
[20:30] Lilith Xomotron:  all of them instead.

[20:53] Lilith Xomotron listened to the voice of a woman from around the dilapidated bus. She was looking for gas, was she? Yes, for the cage they made their victims fight in. They had to surround it with fire to stop them from escaping. When the voice of the Hooded Man reached her ears, she continued on in her head: Doesn’t want us to catch cold? Maybe they’re not so bad … but wait! Yes, they want us healthy. At the top of our game so that their evil crowds can get a good show from fighting the ‘biters’ (as she had heard them called)! And they get an additional giggle out of watching the most healthy of the town become inflicted. Those sick, sick people … When Ham Man invites her inside to get warm, she musters her courage and says a small, “No thank you,” just loud enough to be heard over the rain. They were good people, he said. How did she know? Wait, wasn’t that the woman she’d seen at the diner earlier? Oh god, they didn’t just cause infliction to people. But those few who won their battles were chopped up and served
[20:53] Lilith Xomotron:  to the cannibals!! This was some next level Sweeney Todd shit. “It was a pleasure to meet you all. I hope to see you soon!” she says as politely as possible as to not rouse suspicion. Then, shivering and wet, she ran … in whatever direction was away from Mr Todd and Mrs Lovett.

Not knowing their names, Lilith gave Paul and Kali her own nicknames. Sweeney Todd and Mrs Lovett.
