Fitting in to take care of each other

I guess in a way it is all working. I found work with the ATC, putting in some time over there, getting to know a few of the people that come through there, and have already been injured, and made my first ‘Hello’ to the Hospital. Yes, I think I’m starting to fit in, and I imagine that’s a good thing. I feel very strongly about having a weapon with you when hunting and otherwise, especially after my own injury, just kinda seems after the initial first hit you take, you become prone to them lol, who knows.
I was also acclaimed to be accident prone by someone I ran into there the other day, so perhaps that’s the case? Either way it can become a bit dangerous more towards the edges of town.
It’s kinda nice to have your lucky days tho, my wife found some handgun ammo, and between the two of us with my military history, I am skilled with handguns… was able to hunt a bit and survive a little bit longer, even finding my own ammo in some crossfire with infected police crewmen.
I try to look after the both of us tho, even though it’s hard to survive on your own, but i still find it necessary to do as I started out and take care of her as well as myself, that’s my job now since finding myself retired, to take care of her, even in a world that has changed so drastically.
